Jillian and I wanted to create something that would represent us while working with vendors who had our same values. We also wanted to try and encourage brides to go bold with their colors while still staying traditional. We knew we wanted a real couple and were lucky enough to find Nick & Chrissy who currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
AandBe Bridal provided us with a long sleeved dress by the bridal designer Vagabond. This particular dress is named Ventura. With it’s sheer long sleeves, it constitutes a perfect spring wedding dress while still providing some modesty. The sleeves on this dress can be removed to create a more appropriate summer dress if one so chooses. We really wanted to work with AandBe because of their devotion to authenticity, always improving, community, design, integrity and inclusion.
Kaleh Sampson Designs provided the stationary and menu. Her designs artistically combined organic elements along with the abstract. Her style is traditional but with a modern flair, making it the perfect partner to Sweet Haven Bakery’s design. She provided not only amazing tasting cakes but also using color to create movement. What is especially interesting about this particular work is the painted brush strokes that romantically calls on a late night with shooting stars. Her cakes not only feel like live art pieces, but photograph beautifully and add to the overall design.
Southern Vintage Table is a decor rental company that really brought the entire thing together. With the last extra texture of brass and bronze colored glasses, it grounded the design in a way that only metal can. The goblets brought back a more medieval feel to the space that really complimented the solid wood fireplace mantel along with the white washed brick interior.
Blossom Betty provided the florals and her work can be described as garden aesthetic. All the floral elements used you can find in a well manicured estate. She stayed traditional in the aspect of incorporating roses, but added the flash of modernity with pops of color here and there. Blossom Betty’s floral installations give you an overall feeling of actually being in a garden. They simply accent the space beautifully. This makes it feel as though they are not simply decorating the space but are a pivotal incorporation as well.
