Kada & Stephen wanted their wedding to be fun and low stress, not stuffy and boring – and they succeeded! All guests were encouraged to come clad in fun costumes, and boy did they come through! A dazzling array of wild colors, bedazzled jackets, and even a saxophone appearance graced this incredible wedding.
The teal cowboy boots were a favorite item of Kada’s, bought just for the wedding. Stephen has worn his mullet wig often, and to parties/places that were perhaps not costume parties, so it was only fitting that he wore it for part of his wedding day.
The ceremony started off with The Final Countdown and was the perfect combination of touching, emotional, and fun. There were tears, there was laughter, and it was perfect for this fun-loving couple.
For the reception, a taco truck catered some delicious dinner, including unlimited queso, so of course it ranks as one of my all-time favorite wedding meals. Instead of a cake cutting, they had a taco piñata filled with mini-bottles and Ghiradelli chocolates, which was way more fun and unique than any cake cutting! You’re never too old to appreciate a good piñata.
While guests were getting their tacos, the couple had plenty of time to go out for golden hour portraits. The Old Homestead venue had so many beautiful spots on their property that it made it hard to stop taking pictures!
Once the dance floor opened, Carolina DJ Service got everyone dancing – and crowd surfing! Kada’s uncle requested a two step and whirled Kada around the dancefloor, showing off just how beautifully her gown can flow.
The end of the night wrapped up with some incredible nighttime portraits back in the ceremony location under the boughs of some huge beautiful trees. It was a perfect ending to the wedding!
I loved that Kada & Stephen got super fun, silly photos, an amazing party, a beautiful floral ceremony, gorgeous sunset portraits, AND nighttime portraits under the trees. It was a truly unique and amazing wedding, proving that you really can do whatever you want to at your wedding.
