Hello! My name is Rachel and I am the rentals & events assistant manager for weddings at the Museum of Life and Science. I love the Museum so much that I not only run the weddings there but I also had my own wedding there as well! As someone who has experience on both sides of Museum wedding planning, my strongest recommendation is to take advantage of the add-ons and extra services that your venue offers. They are typically already designed to fit the venue theme and space and they make your wedding even more memorable and unique. The Museum of Life and Science offers many add-on options including liquid nitrogen margaritas, insect encounters, butterfly releases and many more.
When I got married at the Museum, I chose to add the animal encounter because I am a trained animal handler and I knew it would leave guests with a one-of-a-kind memory. Let’s be honest, not every wedding you go to has chinchillas, ball pythons, and geckos! Take advantage of these opportunities to make your wedding stand out and let it reflect you and your relationship. I got to include animals and my husband got to include light sabers. (Compromise is also key…)

Q: What’s your title/position in your business?
A: Rachel Jennings, Rentals & Events Assistant Manager – Weddings
Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself?
A: I run the weddings at the Museum and I also got married at the Museum! Experiencing both sides of the weddings industry at the Museum has helped me gain a wider perspective to help our couples create their unique wedding.
Q: Is there a wedding detail on your bucket list?
A: We just started offering split venue micro wedding packages where our couples can have their ceremonies in other exhibits around our campus, and I can’t wait for someone to select the Dinosaur Trail as their ceremony space!
Q: Tell us about your favorite elopement!
A: My favorite micro weddings are the ones where couples select add-ons like liquid nitrogen margaritas, insect encounters, or butterfly releases. These really add a science museum feel to any wedding or event and they leave guests speechless with memories to take home forever. I love being able to provide those unique experiences.
