Cedar Grove Acres is an elegant, authentically rustic venue situated on 30 rolling acres of farmland, conveniently located in southern Granville County, just a few minutes north of Raleigh. Our Farmhouse was built in 1858 and frames the entrance to the historic farmland, where a shaded country lane provides the perfect gateway for your wedding guests.

You can envision the past being blended into the present as materials from old barns, outbuildings, farm equipment, tobacco sticks, and vintage furniture are used in the creation and building of newer structures at the venue.

The grounds and barns at Cedar Grove Acres offer indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies and receptions, as well as a blank canvas for you and your planner to personalize and bring your wedding day vision to life. You can choose to work with one of our suggested vendors or you are welcome to bring any licensed vendor of your own.

Richard and Paula are the hearts behind Cedar Grove Acres, a rustic venue they created in their back yard shortly after their own wedding.

Paula was born in Raleigh and grew up in different towns across the state, while Richard was born in Ohio but has been in North Carolina for about 35 years. They met online in 2011 and were married two years later. They celebrated with a big party in their backyard after going down to the courthouse, and that was what sparked the dream.

Richard is a General Contractor, so they have taken great care to repurpose materials from the farm while developing the venue. The original buildings create a “wedding town” feeling, giving guests plenty of space to spread out and mingle, dance under the market lights or shady trees, or settle into a vintage couch or swing in our many outdoor seating areas.

Together, the two have a great love for their dogs, which you’re sure to find out when you tour the venue. Paula’s sheltie, Bella, follows her everywhere she goes and loves greeting our couples. Richard is passionate about large breed dogs and currently owns four Old English Mastiffs. Some of their other hobbies and passions include hot yoga, craft beer, working in the yard, hiking, biking, and riding ATV’s

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND ❤️

Cedar Grove Acres was a dream venue for my wedding! Everything the owners, Paula and Richard, have done with their property is quality and lovely. Their vendor list is some of the most professional and qualified vendors around. My guests said my wedding was one of their favorites because of the gorgeous venue and professional, fun vendors! This venue is a gem!!! My experience at Cedar Grove Acres from first visit to end of reception was beautiful perfection!!!” – Nancy, married in June 2020

A: They are short, sweet, fun, less stress, more enjoyment and the couple is still just as married at the end of the day!

Q: Tell us about your favorite elopement!

A: It was mine! We got married at the courthouse and had a big party on the farm. That’s where I dreamed up the idea of opening a wedding venue on our farm, and the rest is history…

Beautiful Farm Venue with the Kindest Owners

“If you’re looking for a beautiful, picturesque farm venue, look no further than Cedar Grove Acres! Not only are the owners some of the kindest, easy to work with people, the property they have is beyond gorgeous! Paula is very responsive and was so flexible with us when we changed our day and time for engagement photos about 3 times (all last minute) when the weather forecast wasn’t working in our favor. After our wedding, our guests were raving about the property and how it is one of the most beautiful farm venues they had been to. I cannot say enough good things about our experience hosting our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception at CGA!” – Krystin, married in October 2019
