I’ve always loved storytelling. Throughout my years as a young girl, my sister and I were always making up stories for our toys, romping around out in the woods, imagining up scenarios and performing them. When I became a young teen, my friends and I would pull out my family camcorder to create music videos and write and perform TV “episodes”.

Fast forward to around age 16, when my best friend started doing photography. We started doing photo shoots for fun and I would tag along with her, eventually picking up my own camera and learning how to tell stories from behind a lens. This became especially important in my life throughout my travels. In a single snapshot, I was able to communicate and share stories of my experiences abroad with my friends and family back home.

In 2018, I was working a few part-time gigs, and one of them was a virtual assistant for a business friend of my mom. Creating a business branding video for her new business was my first official step into the videography world. This propelled my love for storytelling even further, as I found out how powerful film is as a medium when you are trying to convey a certain story or message.

I stepped into the wedding world, shadowing a photographer friend of mine (many thanks, Audrey from Rose Trail Images!) to see if I would even jive as a wedding filmmaker. Needless to say, I absolutely fell in love with it. Not only do I get the privilege of documenting one of the most meaningful days in a couples’ life, but I also get to use my passion for storytelling to craft their film and share their love story through moving picture. I am so excited to continue forward as a wedding filmmaker, and also move more toward elopement filmmaking. Elopements are so exciting to me, as it marries my love for adventuring with my love of telling love stories.

Q: What’s your title/position in your business?
A: Annie Bovitz, Owner and Lead Videographer
Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself?
A: From the years of 2011 and 2017, I was able to set foot on six continents! (Guess which one is left :-D)
Q: Tell us about your favorite elopement!

A: I am just stepping into the elopement realm, and so I am excitedly awaiting my first chance to film one! I can say though, that I have watched many gorgeous elopement films, and one of my favorites was two bloggers named Maddie and Joe Greer who were married in Iceland. The storytelling of the video, coloring, and overall feel of the film is what I’m excited to start creating for couples.

Q: What is your favorite thing about elopements?

A: Going on adventures! Being outdoors (if that’s the vibe!) Also, the special energy that comes from being able to capture the special moments between each unique couple, unhurried and unplanned. They can go at their own pace and we can get really creative with moments and shots, all while honoring the type of day and experience that they are looking to remember forever.

Q: Is there a wedding detail on your bucket list?
A: Yes! I would love to film an elopement in New Zealand. I have some friends who are from South Island in Dunedin and it is so dreamy and picturesque.

I went into wedding planning thinking videography was an optional splurge; I no longer think video, especially for a wedding, would be considered optional. When COVID affected our wedding my husband and I decided that we would love a video to share with friends and family who could not attend in person. I had no idea just how quickly the day passes and how much I would appreciate having videos to help remember the special moments. Annie has given us the ability to share the day with our loved ones and allowed us to relive all of the emotions. She is a joy to work with and her videos are truly amazing. We plan to rewatch our wedding every anniversary and in fact we cannot stop watching them since receiving them. Do yourself a favor and hire Annie as your videographer because you will be so in love with her products!
