A Southport, NC based wedding planning company who has a sweet spot for elopements that are timeless, fun, and kind to the Earth. Supporting local small businesses while bringing today’s couples’ wedding visions to life is what makes us tick.
Serving the Southeast NC Coast
It was initially my high school dream to become a wedding planner but it took almost 20 years to make it a reality. It’s one of the most rewarding jobs I can imagine and an honor to have the privilege to be entrusted with one of the most memorable days of a couple’s life. Growing up in the wedding industry, with a dad who is a wedding DJ, the business mostly comes as second nature, but I don’t take that for granted. In February 2020, we decided to launch elopement packages to give couples a simple option for having a “magazine worthy” intimate wedding. At the time, little did we know that Covid would make that one of the only options for many engaged couples. It was such a blessing to have something beautiful to offer during such a trying time for those trying to plan a day they had dreamed of for so long. I’m always up for a challenge and love trying new things so the uniqueness of each elopement keeps things exciting! This business truly is a dream come true.

A sweet kiss at sunset for this November 2020 couple. They were a dream to work with planning their wedding day. Covid limited the number of guests but the love there was BIG!

“After rescheduling and then indefinitely postponing our Vegas wedding, Blue Satin Bee was able to perfectly capture our vision for our reimagined Oak Island wedding in just two months. I cannot speak highly enough of Kim! We immediately had a great connection from our very first call. She handles absolutely everything, and is also so kind and just a true joy to work with! I highly suggest hiring Blue Satin Bee for your wedding planner needs.”

A: The marriage being the focus of the day. The party stays intimate and all about the couple. As a result, they tend to be much less stress too (for the couple and the vendors)! It’s a win win all around!
Q: Tell us about your favorite elopement!
A: I love them all! But that seems like a copout answer, so I’ll combine my favorite elements of several from 2020. A backyard garden ceremony with mother nature showing off her brightest tones. Toasting signature cocktails and enjoying coastal-inspired tapas al fresco style, underneath the stars.
A: Want to elope on a yacht? Call me!

This intimate July beach elopement had picture-perfect weather. The bride and groom, surrounded by their immediate family, celebrated with a sweet ceremony on the beach, followed by dinner under the stars.

Dogs love elopements too! This sweet couple had planned to wed in Vegas, but Covid had other plans. We loved bringing their “Take Two” vision to life at the beach! Photo by Summer Adams Photography
