1 Blossom 2 Bloom Floral Design

I’m Adanna Omeni, the florist and owner of 1 Blossom 2 Bloom Floral Design. I specialize in pop-ups, hand-tied bouquet subscription services, floral design parties that I call bloom bars, networking events, floral installations, and weddings. My design style is garden or “bespoke” and I am known for free-styled hand-tied bouquets and good conversations. I think what sets me apart is I want everyone to be a part of floral design. When I make you a bouquet, I want to know your favorite color, who is the bouquet for, and if are you new in town. Is this bunch of flowers just to brighten your first empty apartment? Is this for your best friend presenting her doctoral thesis? Did your best friend lose his husband? As a florist, we are there for the cheers and tears and I want each petal I give you to invoke a memory, mostly of joy.

I didn’t know I’d become a florist until I was turned 30, when my best friend gifted me with a blank notebook and encouraged me to write down my dreams. Until then, as a mom who was fighting depression for a long time, I was going through grown-up life on autopilot even though I am naturally creative. I created 1B2B out of a need for Joy and change in my life. To jumpstart my dreams, I did a small pop-up and it felt good connecting with people through my flowers. 2020 took a part of my heart (my dad) and I promised to seek out every opportunity and here I am.

1 Blossom 2 Bloom is me choosing intentional joy and sharing it with the world. I have struggled with a lot of things, including self-doubts, imposter syndrome, and fear. There have been challenges in understanding how business works and learning about branding, websites, and social media… but most of all, starting without having it “all together.” But learning and working through it is worth it because I love meeting people. I love working with people to create this vision that we have never seen before become someone’s “Ahh” moment or the first step in their happily ever after. My floral classes are fun and knowledge-filled with opportunities to make friends, and during the classes, I love seeing people move through the motions from fear to fearless.

I make florals for people who love a good back story and want to reflect that. We help couples who are eloping by giving them the space to create their own expressions of how they want their flowers to be. We love having fun, so if you want flower tattoos and crowns, let’s do them. Maybe you want floral pocket squares or you want to have a cape of roses instead of a flower girl. If you just want a toss bouquet or a bouquet full of greens, let’s do it. We are here to make your dreams come true.

My business is black and women-owned, and I have an affinity for minority communities and for lgbtqia+ communities. I have a passion for community, and I want to be your florist for all of life’s special moments. Maybe you’re ready to say “I do” or “welcome baby”. You might be celebrating that you bought a house, the baby is graduating, and the baby is getting married, and so on. I make notes on your favorite things, events, and anniversaries.

What matters to me most is that the things I dreamed of yesterday, I make my reality today. In both business and personal life, I don’t want to miss out on life because you never know when it’s your last day, and I also know that my daughter is watching me and I want to be her role model.
